In our role as a system supplier, we take care of our clients from day one – from the conceptual idea, throughout construction, commissioning, right up until the system goes into operation. This is the case with both our standard solutions and complex packaging systems, whereby the entire process may take several years. We use the most cutting-edgebetrieb technology and latest design tools from the fields of CAD and control to ensure that we meet the highest demands in laying the foundations for function and process security in our systems. 25 specialist employees from the sales, administration, manufacturing, and service departments are on task in our modern, 2000m² production halls. They are constantly aware of their responsibilities and ready to provide you with an optimum level of support.

Our experience, competence, and expertise are valued by clients in the furniture industry and fitting technology sector, automotive and valve industries, electrical engineering and electronics, the leisure and toy industries and the fields of sealing technology and medical science, as well as many other fields.

Company Timeline

  • 1961

The wholesale retailer Israel Weissbort comes up with the idea of introducing an economical film packing machine on the market.

    1965

Alongside his commercial transactions, he also developed an idea for packing machines and began looking for somebody who could put his technical design into practice.

    1966

Completion of the first packing machines for processing tubular film with additional parts added manually.

  • 1973

Construction of a mechanical workshop and attempts with heat sealing systems in the Feuerbach district of Stuttgart, Germany. The packing machines are refined and go into serial operation, processing poly-tube film from the roll. Automatic sequence control systems and temperature regulation devices for heat sealing are added.

    1974

Component for automatic part feeding and counting with vibratory conveyors and cartridge belts were incorporated into the packing process. Additional equipment for marking bags using label dispensers or hot stamp printers also went on offer.

  • 1991

'Film wrapping' branch of the business sold to Helmut Marek due to Weissbort’s advancing age. The company relocated from Stuttgart to a 2000m² production and administration building in Gerlingen, a town north-west of Stuttgart. The client base and all of the employees were also transferred.

    1993

New development of poly-tube bag machines in a variety of setups in profile technology and microprocessing control. The latest thermal transfer printing technology was put into action for marking bags.

    1999

Further development of machine control with SPS and PC for managing the machine and labeling data information necessary for packing product ranges and commissioning including host connection. Integration of auxiliary equipment such as automatic attachment, counting, and weighing systems for fully automated packaging operations.

  • 2000

Expansion of the film business for the packing machines. This development saw IVECO progress become a prime contractor and begin to supply its clients with all consumables, wear parts and replacements, and start to offer extensive service and maintenance tasks.

    2003

Construction concept for the frame of the machine is completely reworked in order to make it easier for users to service the machine. The result was a kind of cuboid structure, which made the machine significantly safer and easier to service.

    2007

Conversion from purely textual displays to machine operation and a setup based on graphic touch panels, Human Manine Interfaces (HMI). Extensive changes to the parameter settings and machining processes were made and then saved to increase user-friendliness. What's more, it is now possible to control all of the peripheral equipment such as printers or scales directly from this panel. Use of the classic tool, the PC, fell out of favor completely, since the labels could be stockpiled and product management saved on the control panel.

    2014

IVECO GmbH + Co. KG is celebrating its 50-years operational jubilee.
